Wall hangings from several years ago

We were at my sisters this weekend and I decided to take some
photos of wall hangings I have made for her and post
them on the blog.
The Fisherman one was made with help from
my Aussie Friend Pat as she did the
wording on her embrodiery machine.
It is hanging over my Brother in laws bed.
Over my sisters bed is a fun quilt of her
sitting on a chair reading a book with her
dog and shopping bag.
The floral quilt was from a class from
Quilt University. I gave that one to my mom and now my
sister has it. The flowers were fused and then sewn
down and embelished with some beads.

THE FAT LADY'

We were visiting cousins and all
went to and Italian place for lunch.
I loved the painting on the wall of the fat lady.
I think she had too much pasta.

Charm quilt progress

So far I like the charm squares sewn in blocks by color using the little tumble stamp.
I've decided to do 3 rows of blocks 6 long and between there will be two rows of an embrodiery vine and wheel style berries.
here is a photo of the future plans.
Considering I need 18 blocks and have only made three it will be a while.
But I LIKE it......

BLUEBIRDS

Here is my autumn wallhanging in progress to hang on the star hanger in the quilt room. The leaves were traced from real leaves that I collected last autumn. I added a bluebird. The second photo is of our bluebird house. Our neighbors spotted a couple of blue birds checking out the bluebird house recently. Not sure if they decided to move in. We heard that the male will build the nest and if the female doesn't like it then they will find someone else to live. Then you have to clean out the house so maybe another couple might decide they like it.
It would be so cool to have our own bluebirds on the property.

Charm exchange with Martha (thanks Martha)

A Year ago in March my friend Martha and I began a monthly 2 1/2 inch charm block exchange.

Each month we exchanged 25 fabric

squares.

I have tried 2 different layout ideas and not happy with either of them.

I have my featherweight set up in the

quilt room at Hunter knob and love

the view and decided to work

on idea number three using the charms.

I am putting together a 16 patch block of a color family then will put those blocks together in strips with an

alternating strip between them with

perhaps some embrodiery or applique.

OR I will put the blocks together with an

alternationg block.

I have pieced four of the blocks so far and they

are in the tumbler shape.

STAY tuned for more on this

PROJECT.

I would love to have a plan for the blocks

since our last exchange is in March.

The squares are so special not to do something

awesome with them.

Martha is also working on how to use the charms.

THANKS MARTHA.

Michael's STASH

I helped Michael stack and organize his piles of wood.
It reminded me of a quilter and their STASH of Fabric.
Michael's wood is his STASH.

W4W

Crane Creek Vinyard is our local winery.
They have a group of ladies that meet once a
month and the group is called Wine for Women or is it Women for Wine? anyway it is a catchy name for the group.
I love their SWEET SALLY wine that was named
after their golden lab Sally.
When I have a glass I call it
B4SS
(bet for sweet sally)

RELISH the motorcycle ARRIVES at Hunter Knob

CRANKING UP

Neighbors Sharon and Ken come over to visit and see Michael's motorcycle.

Perfect weather for a ride.

MAILBOX AND ALPACAS

We are happy to have our mailbox
at hunter knob.

Across from where the mailbox is
there is the field where sometimes
the alpacas are grazing.
I was fortunate to have had
the camera along to get
this photo.
It was neat to see them running
and their fur flying along behind them.

THANKS LAVEDA for the DESKS

I bought this antique mirror to put over
the small desk. It has a place for a photo.
I am trying to decide what photo to put
in the frame.
I thought it was a cool item. I found it at
Hiawassee Antique shop.
At long last we were able to bring our two new antique desks from my friend LaVeda to hunter knob.
I was very excited to have them.
For now the small desk is
downstairs.

The larger desk will serve as a cutting
table in the quilt room.
I've already tried it out and
it is awsome and looks perfect in the room.

Ready to be quilted

My goal last week
was to have these two wallhangings ready to be machine quilted. You can see the special star hanger. I plan to make a few more wallhangings and rotate them.
I love how they look over the old bookshelf in the quilt room.

DUSTING OF SNOW AT HUNTER KNOB

Brandy and I were excited with the dusting
of snow at Hunter knob.
Our snowman was a little
small. Laura said it was a snow god.

Brandy wasn't too sure about the
dusting of snow and liked to lick it.
The day before when we had some
flurries she was running around the
deck trying to catch the snowflakes.

What is this I see..
POMAPOO tracks in the SNOW.

EVENING AT HUNTER KNOB

It was a beautiful sunset on Saturday
Feb. 7th.

The moutains were the most
incredible shades of pink and blues.

AND THE FULL MOON WAS RISING.
WOW..
God is awesome.
