TWO TREASURES FOR HUNTER KNOB

My friend LaVeda and her husband Mike offered us these two antique desks for Hunter knob. We went today to look and them and
we loved them both. This larger one has 3 drawers. Both are solid wood and very
stressed. Really special indeed.

The smaller one is an old school desk. It even has some initials carved on the top of it.

It has a hinge that opens for the storage area.

Both are awesome and will find a good place in Hunter knob possibly in the quilt room.
THANKS LaVeda and Mike.

Yuppie Puppy

Brandy went to the groomer this week. She is always very proud of how she looks after the grooming and we call her the yuppie puppy. she looks like she loses 5 lbs after she is groomed.

Retirement Gift

Michael is trying out the retirement quilt I made for him.
The top is made of wool and the backing is flannel so it is a very warm quilt.

STILL FALL at HUNTER KNOB

In mid November there was still some fall foliage. This is the VIEW from the deck with the leaves off the trees.

My favorite red oak still has a few leaves. It was the last tree to turn color as it was still green when we were there in October.

The leaves on the ground are pretty neat to see also.

These trees are along Hwy 66 heading to Hunter Knob.
I am not sure but I think they might be Bradford Pear trees?
I guess I will know for sure this spring if they are full of blooms.

This is the dogwood we planted in October between the driveways.

DECORATING FOR CHRISTMAS

I have decorated part of the mantel. Still need some candles.
And the stocking were HUNG by the chimney with care.
Notice these are the stockings and holders I bought last January at Joann's for 90% off.

These next photos are of the stairs. My first experience decorating stairs and I am pleased with the results.
I enjoyed making the floral decorations. I wanted them to have an old fashion basic look.
Now I need to finish the 12 days of Christmas quilt to hang. It is a UFO or WIP from a while back.
Maybe I will do it for next Christmas?

The idea for the lighted Garland is from my sister. THANKS DOTTY.

THE SIGN is POSTED

Michael is busy digging the hole for posting our Hunter Knob sign.
Bet and Brandy posing by the newly erected Hunter Knob sign. Note the elevation of 1980 feet.

BRANDY AGAIN

Brandy is pretty tired after a round of her chewy and playing with her squeaker ball. LIFE IS FUN for a pomapoo.

BRANDY our POMAPOO

Brandy is not too happy trying on my new Skeetchers. Maybe she thinks the camoflodge fabric is not her style.

Treasures from the Feather Princess Sale

If you know me you know I LOVE purses and bags.
I found this neat bag for $1.00 at the sale today.
WOW. I was happy. It is lined with a red bandana fabric with a pocket sewn in the side.

Close of up the stitching on the bag. It appears to be made of strips of fabric that are knitted together.

ANOTHER Treasure from the Feather Princess Sale

Here is a Chenille Teddy bear I bought for $1.00.
His yellow eyes look a little crazed but hey maybe we all feel like we have yellow eyes some days.
He had yellow bows on his neck and arm but I thought that was a bit much so took them off and will find a more appropriate color.
Anyway the Teddy has found a home on the bed in my quilt nest.

Carter Again

Carter says GOOD MORNING

Another project completed

Sunflower block hand pieced and hand embrodiery around the block.
This pillow will be a gift for my MIL for Christmas.

Here is the scarf I made for my MIL for Christmas.
I put pockets on the ends.
The yarn is part wool and party nylon and very soft and fluffy.

Crochet projects

This is a wool scarf I am crocheting using a half double crochet stitch. it sort of resembles knitting. I love how the yarn colors look. I plan to felt it and hope it won't shrink too much.

November update

Here is my new teddy bear. I bought it at the shop in
Helen, Georgia for $25. There is no way I would have made it
for that price so I got a good deal.
