REMEMBER THE 12 days of Christmas Quilt?

Do you remember the 12 days of Christmas quilt that began in December 2003 in Quiltmaker Magazine?
During 2004 the series or patterns were published in the magazine two at a time.
My plan was to make the quilt as they patterns arrived. Easily done in a year. RIGHT?
WRONG.
As I never do things by the book I reduced the block size so the quilt would fit on my quilt hanger in the living room.
THIS made some of the smaller pieces very small and difficult to hand applique.

Decorating Hunter Knob for Christmas I thought about the quilt in progress. It would be perfect hanging from the loft. SO I opened the drawer to see how much I had completed on the quilt.
Here is the center block. It just needs some leaves. Note the tree is facing the opposite direction from the pattern.
FORGOT to reverse the pieces... No problem since I don't do things by the book.

These two block are completed.

This entire row is completed. Just needs a few leaves on the four calling bird block.
STAY TUNED as I am now working on this quilt again.
MAYBE by Christmas 2009 it will be completed.
I'll try and post photos of the blocks as they are completed.
WISH ME LUCK.

DO PUMPKINS GROW IN FLORIDA?

In June I planted pumpkins both in Georgia and Florida. The ones in Georgia didn't make it. BUT the VINE in Florida is thriving......
And thanks to the 90% off sale at Michael's it has pumpkins.....
Actually the flower in the photo is real. The vine produces a very tiny fruit then in gets all squishy and rots... I couldn't resist a photo with these added pumpkins to the vine.
Maybe next year I will do better with the pumpkin patch at Hunter Knob.

HOT CHOCOLATE RECIPE

A friend recently shared this recipe for hot chocolate and it's awesome.
Heat a mug of milk in the microwave.
Stir in two small dove chocolates. top with cool whip.
Wrap your hands around the mug and enjoy.
There are several varieties of Doves so you could pick a different one for each night. :-)

We voted on a title of the quilt.
June's suggestion was the winner.
AN OPEN BOOK IS AN OPEN DOOR

Annorah is happy she was a door prize winner.

Here I am showing my traditional breakfast meal.
Emily is enjoying her lunch.

We had a great time eating and visiting.

WOOL SCARF

I finished my new WOOL SCARF and headband today. It should be very warm.
The yarn says you can felt it but I'm a bit concerned that it might shrink too much so don't think I will try felting it. The yarn was really fun to work with. You may remember several posts back when I started working on it. I took that one apart and started over making it not quite as wide.
