SPRING AT HUNTER KNOB

I was happy to spend a few days of early
spring at Hunter knob.
Here are a few photos.
The line of blooming pear trees
in front of the college, my tulip,
daffodils and crocus blooming.

APPLIQUE MAT

One of our SASS members is doing a workshop to make these lap boards to use for applique or sewing. Since I will be out of town and miss the workshop she gave me an early lesson.

I chose to put a little pin cushion, scissor holder, and little thread holder on my board.

It will be great to use at quilt meetings and on car trips.

FLORIDA SPRING TREES

We are looking forward to going to Hunter knob
soon and hope to see some signs of spring.
In the meantime I saw these two awesome
trees blooming when I went to the store today.
I have no idea what type tree they are but
the sure are beautiful.

Celebrating at the wildlife park

We celebrated our 40th anniversary by taking a ride in the miata top down to Homosassa springs state wildlife park.

I especially loved the flamingos as they were strutting around enjoying the awesome day.

We missed the manatee feeding as they were not use to daylight savings time and didn't show up to eat.

I loved the little turtle stretched out soaking up some sunshine, and the gators and the BIG hippo named LU.

40th Anniversary

We are celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary this weekend March 8th, 2009.
After dinner we opened gifts.
Michael liked his gifts of 2 DVD sets and the new Eagles CD and best of all The book I wrote for him about the first two years we met.
Titled ONCE UPON A TIME A LOVE STORY.
He surprised me with the new KINDLE 2......
pretty amazing device.
We already downloaded my first book.
zip zap.......The most interesting thing as I was opening the kindle 2 on the pull tab was the words ONCE UPON A TIME........
How special is that.
We also opened a awesome bottle of French Bordeaux white wine.
Tomorrow we will take a drive in the Miata to
the state park in Homosassa springs. It's supposed to be a top down day.

SASS LOGO

Here's the new embrodiery I had made on
my denim jacket.
I was going to use the previous SASS logo
but they no longer had that one as it was from the 2007 catalog.
I am very pleased with how this one looked.
There was no room for the word SASS .

Snowman Class

I signed up to take this snowman
class the end of March.
I just love the beading etc.
Stay tuned to see if I can
actually make the block and
what I do with it.

SASS LIBRARY QUILT

The SASS ladies gave the quilt we made to the library the end of February.

We hope to see it hanging soon. I'll post another photo when it is hanging.

For now we are very proud of it as is the library staff.

FEBRUARY TOP DOWN DAY

The last week of February we had some what I call TOP DOWN DAY weather.
Brandy enjoyed her ride home from the groomer with the top down.
